Thought i would add my support to such a great website. For those seeking more info on my career and training check out www.jamesthie.com

This is my first blog entry on athleticsdata.com, so here i go!

The summer is about to start and i am still fighting off a long term achilles injury. I have had some really good months training and getting some good long reps and miles in the bag. I plan on running the national 12 stage relay on this forth coming weekend and then the Bristol 10km, followed by my first track race in New york on May 10th. This is hopefully the plan but my achilles will have to cope with added stress of training in spikes and faster reps!

The next few weeks are critical to my summer, as my main aim is improving my four year old 1500m pb 3:37.0, which would put me close to the Olympic qualifing time and make all the hard work worth while.

cheers jt

Hello James
Great to hear from you and really hope you can get back to your best. There are definitely slots up for the 1500 at the Olympics.

I always like to credit you with helping with my 5000 pb 15:26. It was in 1996 down at the BMC Millfield meet and we were neck and neck all the way but we still got lapped by Ian Gillespie. You have moved on somewhat from then!

thanks Tim,

Great website and as i said wanted to add my support. Would be great to have alot of peoples blogs on here as adds the personal touch to the results.

And as for that 5000m its still my track pb as well 15:27.0, i have though only ran one since and that was a DNF last summer after some bad hayfever at manchester- was set to crush it at 2miles 8:57- but felt terrible and had a big road mile a few days later. Saved the legs and won the road mile and £1000, so this time it paid to be soft!

cheers jt
