Well Trafford was ideal conditions but for one reason or another I once again struggled to hit the ground running here. I still ran the quickest I have for this course, chopping 11 seconds off my previous best here last year. I wasn’t really focused on Trafford and was lucky to get a late entry but I still expected to do better but with hindsight I should be and indeed I am pleased with the run.
I’ve begun my taper and will hit the carbs for a few days (I eat normal and have a carb powder for a few days prior to the race), throwing in one light session Wednesday (4 x 1 mile at marathon-ish pace with 2 or 3 min jog in between, boring!).
For the three marathons I’ve ran I’ve worn Nike Lunaracer (version 1 for Edinburgh and 2 for Liverpool and London). I love the Luna but after wearing the adios and adizero I feel they’re a better show for me and much more responsive. My training hasn’t gone 100% to plan, mainly self inflicted issues around discipline but I’m only human :0) |
