See the keepers, hanging rancid in the glade, Arconada, Pfaff and Bats and Joseph-Antoine Bell… I hope for answers in the distance, far beyond dim sierras…
Funny end to last week – I ran our traditional Friday cross country route with the lads in work, showing them how not to go over styles by completely missing my step and eating dirt, luckily, like my head, the ground was very soft. I then intended to run later in the night with a circuit class thrown in for good measure. I fell asleep and missed the class and felt too groggy to get out for a run. I had a bad sleep and felt terrible in the morning, missing my long run and the Liverpool game. I felt okayish on the Sunday and tried to get out for a few miles – I lasted 3 before feeling my guts explode! I had to walk home then missed the next day in work, feeling dizzy everytime I stood up.
I reckon I was just badly dehydrated from the Thursday and the Friday run made things worse. I got out for a few miles on the Monday but still felt awful. Kill or cure on the Tuesday, I hit the intervals 7 x3 mins in work, not really quick but hard enough and I was glad to do ‘em. I ran again in the night and done my customary 10 miles with Stu on Wednesday. Feeling chipper I hit the gym in the evening for a circuit class. I usually don’t run hard in circuits, the point of them to me is to increase my core strength and keep everything else ticking over. I ended up in a group with lads I know well and peer pressure got the better of me and I ended up busting a gut on the shuttles all night. Following my illness, it was bit risky and stupid but I lived to tell the tale :0)
I was knackered in the evening and this morning started getting cramp everywhere! Another bad hydration lesson learnt, I wanted to run around 5:57 but ended up at 6:07’s – think I’ll give tonight a miss, stock up on liquids and a big dinner and concentrate on a big run this Saturday with the ace Park Run thrown in, I missed another chance at glory in the Park Run – the winner was 18:29 which I’d have fancied beating ;0) |
